ABZ Karting Night Tuesday 11th March
Re: ABZ Karting Night
Thinking of a Monday night for the Karting. I will call tomorrow night and get something booked.
Mike, how long are you home for and when are you home again? PM me and I will arrange to suit.
Has anyone got any contacts regarding Boyndie? Much more space for overtaking, but not sure how easy it is to book.
Steve.

I can give Gavin Sutherland a call re- boundie.
It is better by miles, well worth the trip. Karts are twice as fast and the track is 4 times as long

But remember I only had 160hp to start with...and road tyres.tut wrote:Actually that was not the reason, it was N1 TUT in those days and she felt way down on power. Took her to Wallaces and onto the RR which showed 160 instead of 220hp. They cleaned the air filter and the power was back again, which is when I discovered that if you are going to do road runs on our roads you have to clean the filter regularly.
After that if there was any doubt on track I would just pull the hose off the filter, tracks are way cleaner than our farmers roads.

A couple of times at Boyndie they've let us take the cars on after karting.
Karting there is ace, 6 abreast into the first corner.

Re: ABZ Karting Night Tuesday 11th March
Karting booked for Tuesday 11th March. (Mondays cannot be booked, arrive and drive night)
Directions here http://www.kartstart.com/contact.htm
Arrive 19:15 for inductions and start at 19:30.
5 practice laps, then 2x15 lap races.
Price is £18 for the whole event plus £2 insurance and then £1 for helmet balaclava liner (or take your own lid)
If you pay me your money on the night I will then sort out the bill, since I have put down a deposit. I have confirmed for six and will amend with Kartstart once I get a clearer idea of the totals then I will phone them back incase they fill the spaces with other people, so the sooner you confirm your name the better please.
Can you take along the correct amount of money too please, as it makes it a lot easier.
Minimum 4 people maximum 20 for the sprint event.
My mate Steve W. is pretty good on the karts and weighing only 9stone he has a massive advantage over me. I have only ever seen one person faster, and that was Lee Adams up at Boyndie one time. Lee was Scottish Hillclimb champion and used to work with Steve. (I reckon that some of you would probably know him)
A free beer for all of you who manage to finish ahead of him. No dirty tactics in plotting to take him out so that you all get a drink either, I know what you boys are like.
A wee bit of fun with some healthy competition and bragging rights.
Can someone give Scotty C a shout please.
Can you edit to confirm or delete if you cannot make it please. Thanks.

Re: ABZ Karting Night
You had not had your Elise for long then Ali, but you were getting pretty useful. I expected to have the edge on you with the Honda giving normal power, but when it was a level playing field it was a bit different.alicrozier wrote:But remember I only had 160hp to start with...and road tyres.tut wrote:Actually that was not the reason, it was N1 TUT in those days and she felt way down on power. I think I was using Maxsports then, which were good on track in the dry until they changed the compound. Still have a brand new set that somebody gave me years ago. Worth putting on for a dry KH for old times sake.

Was it the offer of a free drink if she beats Steve?
