Audi's Alive

Post by r10crw » Mon Mar 04, 2013 1:34 pm

Got the Audi running in the S1 yesterday so all is looking well :thumbsup

Had her out briefly and she is running reasonably well but booked in for mapping this Saturday, wish me luck.....

Craig.

PS. The short drive was a little special, the bulbous front arches and just the feel of an S1, missed it.

The exhaust is downward pointing though so not so sure it will be torching any followers, tut nearly got his feet burnt!

Good day, as usual not everything went as it was supposed to but the car drove home with a 1 bar map. Couldn't do a full power run due to wheel spin but she is running very sweet with this map, not sure power, around 280 ish? but is very tractable and actually very good to drive, dump valve is a little annoying but guess its there for a reason. Took the go pro for the run home so have some footage but nothing with her being pushed, with the exception of a short 30 - 70 mph burst in 2nd its all half throttle!

PS Sanjoy you will be pleased to know she flames plenty!

Nice one, ref the wheel spin C, is there an lsd in there as well or were the rollers polished after you'd finished lol..

Wheel spin is just with the car being so light. Had it with the honda as well, remember having concrete blocks in the boot with tut and I sitting on the clam just to get grip.
Doing the power run gave what seemed like ok results but only 180 hp, so may have even been an issue wth the rollers or that's all she makinng and I'm getting old?

You could always use a recirculating dump valve and run it back to the airbox. Your still going to hear it, but it'll be less 'in your face'. :)

Never seen an Audi conversion in the flesh, can't wait to see your car at a meet/trackday sometime.
