Yikes. Why did I start this thread with the title simple brake question'. :)

greatly appreciate all of the info and advice.

did not get a chance to take the brakes apart last night.

looks like i have standard AP Disks with holes rather than groves which may or may not be 'cheesy'. general concensus is if i replace them with the grooved disks than all should be well. also seems to be the case that most would go for the CL5's rather than 6's.

what i did manage to find out last night is that the front disks do in fact have some caliper material stuck to the face of the disks. as soon as i get the time i will get both the disks and pads sanded down, bedded in and see how it goes from there. i will also be ordering up some cl5's to replace whatever is in there just now. will let you all know how it goes and whether the disks are in fact cheesy :D

Sit down before ordering these...308mm rotors only are circa £410 the pair.

Ive put 16k on the original 308's and now on 2nd set of Pagid 14's with quite a few t/ds included.

Happy with the braking although I'm def not the last of the late brakers.

No mice spotted under the car so far. :D

Take care,

Frank

Was it steel or MMC discs?

Only MMC dedicated pads can be used on MMC discs. They work in a different way to steel disks and normal pads.
