Wheels Around & KH

Those of you at KH yesterday will have noticed me turning up to get me new tyres and have a chinwag. Just a quick thumbs up for Ronnie at Wheels Around (who are at every SIDC day, for tyres) Phoned him the day before and he had a set of Yoko A038s in Elise sizes in the truck. So I popped along to KH to get them fitted (he couldn't give me a price over the phone as he was out of the office at the time) fully expecting them to be pretty near full list price (which is over 600 knicker, dependant on where you look)

He really surprised me with the figure that he quoted on the day - brilliant price

Not going to post it - it was probably a one-off, as he had them on the truck, but I know that everyone who's used him has been totally satisfied with the prices. He's bloody good too - takes care, jacks the car right and he had the book pressures in the tyres when they were fitted - didnt have to tell him.

The tyres themselves are excellent so far, but I'll post a wee mini-review when I've used them for a while and set stuff up to suit. Million times better than the Maxies, but you'd expect them to be. Certainly, they don't seem to hold Scotty back...

i've gone to ronnie for years for tyres

never had a problem and fitting has always been free and no hassle.

Does anyone know if he's likely to be around for the CE motorsport Satursay morning event on the 16th?

Don't know if Brunty has him along, but worth mentioning....

Always at SIDC though, and he's based out of Auchterarder.

Maybe if some of you S1 guys get a cheap set of wheels he could.
In fact, Scott D was trying to flog some fake Lotus wheels on flea bay recently.

Ronnie is great, and has been coming to our events for about 5 years now.

Always very careful fitting and removing tyres, and always keen on prices (particularly Yokohamas). Fitting and balancing is free, whcih again is a good saving.

I'm sure if you clubbed together and bought a set of suitable wheels, that Ronnie would fit slicks to them and make them available for hire at our events. The biggest question would be how gets to use them first and for how long

I know it's a bit more work and a few more £, but Ronnie could also fit slicks for hire to your current wheels, and re-fit your road tyres after the event. The downside is you would be joining the queue at the end of the event to get road tyres re-fitted, so would lose an hour or so.

Did not realise that you posted on here John.

I mentioned to Campbell that almost all of the founders of SE were now on here, and checking back to 1999, you were already posting when I first joined.
