New wheels

Post by douglasgdmw » Tue May 18, 2010 12:33 pm

After selling the Evo we decided it was about time we got ourselves a replacement.

On the shopping list was a Porsche Cayman S but after having a drive of the Evora we were absolutely smitten. All the previous Evora's that I had looked at were specced around the £60k which was way above what we wanted to pay.

We were thinking of keeping the Elise but after a little deliberation we decided that having both of them in the garage would have been overkill. However if we had decided on the Cayman the Elise was definitelt being kept :)

Here's a sneaky picture with old/new together, as before we signed on the dotted line with Graeme the final decision was whether the Evora could get in the garage (it was a tight squeeze).

The Evora's was Murray's ex demo which ticked all the boxes on what we required from an Evoro i.e. ditching rear seats and premium tech pack and going for a sportier version i.e. sports pack, sports exhaust etc

So thanks to all of the Scottish Elise massive who have driven the car before me and hope that you treated it with kid gloves :?

Also Graeme now has a very nice Lotus Elise 111R in stock in Aspen white with sports pack in case anyone is looking.

All happened very quickly.

Elise was serviced a couple of weeks ago and we grabbed Graeme in the passing to as about prices of Evora's as we did not think they would be in our price range.

Then had the test drive on Tuesday, deal was then done and we picked up the car on the Friday (Graeme pulled out all stops to get it early due to some issues with the Golf Clipper).

Cheers

Well done an excellent choice I thought long and hard about that very car but in the end decided it was about a year too soon.
Congrats and hope you enjoy it. Will be looking for your opinion on it in a few months.

Phew that was a bit of a relief then. I did check that the tyres were not down to the canvas before we bought the car though :D
