got MMC to order me new front grills as the current ones look minging/rusted up etc.

they said it takes 5 hours to change them!! :shock:

that cant be right surely......... :?

thankfully its still under warranty. phew!

didnt realise it was a clam off job, do we think it would be worth me getting braided hoses while its off :?

unfortunately not, std hoses to compliment the crappy std pads :(

tbh ive not had a problem with break fade yet, perhaps thats cause i dont break hard enough :oops:, might just leave it for the time bring as mmc will prob charge scarey prices...... :roll:

It's not a fade issue. Then the standard hoses get hot they have a tendencey to expand a little when you brake really hard. I can't see this being an issue on the Exige as the servo will mask the effect totally. For those of us with the original braking system, it makes a difference to feel, not fade.

Changing the brake lines to steel ones does not require clam removal on any Elise I have worked on and I wouldn't think it any different on the S2 Exige.


Servo makes fitting steel hoses quite pointless though - which reminds me that my brakes are knackered ... must get that sorted!

Where do I get the air horns - they are clearly a must-have accessory :-)
