Windscreen Wiper - S2

Post by Peter76 » Fri Mar 20, 2009 11:29 am

After reading another post suggesting that i could get any 24/25" wiper blade from Halfrauds and use the existing clip - i did just that, but the part of the new wiper that the clip attaches to is thinner than the existing wiper so the clip won't go on it. Then after reading this post, i ordered a blade from Kelvedon Lotus and this doesn't fit either with new or old clip. The new clip fits the new wiper, but not the arm. :scratch :scratch Now i'm sure i'm not that technically incompetent, and it's just a bl**dy wiper blade. Why am i having so much trouble? The current blade on my car is 25". Do the newer Exiges/Elises have a different fitting perhaps?? It's an 07. Most threads i've found on this suggest that the blade is 24".

I ordered the arm and blade from Kelvedon but had the same problem the clip doesnt fit the arm so I'm raking around to see if I can find any old clips in the garage.

going to try it out tonight and see what happens

I'll let you know how i get on

Did you order them as a set or two different items? If it was a complete set i'd be asking for my money back!

Aye it was a set but to be honest the hastle of sending it back because of one clip isnt worth it. Found a clip that fits and need a little more filing in the hole that goes over the spline to make it fit.

When reading about fitting an S2 arm to a S1 it says you may need a little filing ..... a LITTLE!! half the arm is on my garage floor

The blade and arm came with two plastic clips when I ordered them and it was the smaller of the two new clips that I used and no bending or filing was needed just a straight fit onto the S1.
I just clipped the plastic clip onto the blade and insereted the u bend through the gap and pulled it back till it clicked in place on the plastic clip.
I can post pictures if this helps.
Cheers

The little plastic clip i got is too thick for the 'U' on the wiper arm.

either that or I'm too thick to fit it
