Alans business is repairing and re-spraying. He is just a mile away from me in the next village, and at present is leasing a farm building from the local farmer. He turns his hand to anything from combine harvesters, HGV's and now Elises.
He is a youngish chap that works on his own, I never even asked him what it would cost, just knew that it would be fair and that he would do a good job. A bit like Mark Hutcheson, an enthusiast who is pleasant to chat to, an expert at what he does, and has not got caught up into the total world of commercialism. He told me that the paint alone costs £170/litre, but with combined buying from the right source, he can get that down.
You all know the state that my car was into, so it takes some going to turn it into this.

Cheers Tut, it's always good to hear about local folk in the North East like Mark and now Alan that we can entrust with our cars, and we doff our caps to yourself for spreading the word!
My car has had a crack in the front clam since I got it over three and a half years ago, but water is now getting into it causing lovely ready-to-flake bubbles when it freezes. I've delayed doing anything about it as I couldn't bring myself to fork out stupid money to the likes of Kinghorn or JM for an average job... (JM repaired my car when I was rear ended and didn't do a great job even with a brand new clam). Knowing that there is someone local, independent and knowledgable might just be the shove I need to sort it out!
