McLaren have been fined 100 Million dollars less what they should have got from the TV money which now goes to Ferrari.

Max Mosley has now got rid of Paul Stoddart
Stuffed BAR when they got quick with their fuel tank
Stuffed Frank Williams by getting BMW to buy Sauber
and completed the trick by stuffing Ron Dennis in the pocket

He really is an evil piece of turd.

He couldn't chuck out the drivers because of public opinion and the best championship fight there has been in ages. He's going to have another meeting in December to see if he should whack McLaren again for 2008 ;)

The fact remains that Ferrari allowed their information to be given away to McLaren, Ferrari are as guilty as anyone else for allowing it to happen.

So why should Ferrari be rewarded for their own mistakes?

If this was football then there'd be a few torched Fezzas tonight

:withstupid yep. That's how I see it too. I can't believe the smugness of Ferrari's press statement either... like you say, Mclaren didn't *take* the data... it was *given* to them.

What was Toyota's penalty for stealing Ferrari data a few years back??? (IIRC the events).

In a word "pathetic".

After watching the last two races and falling asleep, it makes me wonder why we are even concerned anymore about their mad machinations.

You know, occasionally, just very occasionally, a succinct, well-informed, ever so slightly emotionally charged and fundamentally hilarious post arrives in this blessed wee forum.

Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, was one such moment - bravo Lawrence!

I turned on the F1 highlights by mistake on Sunday, just in time to see the event of the entire weekend - a car passing another car the way they used to 10 years ago. Lewis sticking one on Kimi. I was ecstatic. I'd saved an hour of torture, and stumbled on the key 1 minute of the whole shebang. Purely by accident. My god, there is a god.

I was so excited I had to switch the telly off again right away.

Ferrari's machinations in F1 have led me to boycott their products for years.

Pete

(I realise that my boycotting of Ferrari's products may sound like a bit of an empty gesture to any of you who don't know how strongly I feel about this, but if you have a Ferrari you can test me. Just offer to lend it me and I'll say no. Honest. Especially if it was, say, a F355. I mean you leave it outside my house with the keys in the ignition and a full tank of gas and it would still be there when you came back. Especially if you came back after 2 or 3 days. To really test me you understand.)

Really hope this is not the end of Ron and the McL boys :(
This will hit them and continue to hurt them for at least a couple of years :(
Might have to hope for BMW/Honda/Redbull to pull a decent car out the bag for next year as this has got to hurt Ron's budget for next year

Is beating Ferrari worth the risk ? if they don't win the bottom lip goes out the toy's get thrown from the pram and the FIA goes here here aww and punishes those who go faster remember renaults front suspension last year they where the only one using that type everyone knoew about it and how it worked it was no great, but renault has sucsess so they banned it

There was a 20 year period (not that long ago) where Ferrari didn't win a championship.

Do you think the Ferrari influence has just taken hold of the FIA now?

When the manufacturers threatened their breakaway championship the FIA did a deal with Ferrari for 2008 on.They promised them huge money but were forced to write it down such that the winner's get a far larger share of the TV money than a mere percentage would imply, IIRC it's about 50% of the total

Renault of course stopped Ferrari for the last 2 years and and had their mass damper banned when Ferrari were toiling. This year Ferrari started the year and won the first race with a flexible floor, they claimed it was alright due to the way the FIA measured the deflection of the floor which is exactly what BAR claimed when they were banned for 2 races with their petrol tank, it was correct the way the FIA measured the cars.

Ferrari continue to run aero wheel brake ducting that has been illegal since the dawn of time. The 2008 Mclaren will have a thorough inspection in December for the WMSC to consider, how many Ferrari people are on the council? and how good have the FIA been in containing private information in this most recent farce?

Max Mosley's face yesterday morning said it all for me, he promised Ferrari a kings ransom and all they had to do was win it, now he's taken the money from McLaren and given it to them.

70 million dollars IIRC

He's got to go soon

Ahhh! That explains a lot. I never paid too much attention to F1 politics in the past.....and being a Honda fan, never really listened to all the Ferrari vs. McMerc bickering. Always thought they were as bad as each other.
