guy i know has an order in (hasn't been asked for a deposit yet) - i looked it up.

Dearer than a Caterham (i think i compared it to the new Superlight r400),worse power - weight ratio.

The thing that would put me off more than anything is that it took Ariel about 4 years to get the handling right on the Atom, so how are early cars from these guys going to handle ??

P.S. was down at a 7 club track day at Croft weekend before last and someone there had managed to spec a CSR260 up to £50 k

the DSG 'box must weigh a fair bit over a normal 'box?

Are the RHD numbers even more limited? There could of course be the opertunity to make a bit of money there, but you probably know that.

I'm with the JJ school of thinking, first time you see one you'll kick yourself :D Having said that, it now makes the 2-11 look a bit more competitvely priced.

Don't think it's DSG, think it's a sequential mechanism for the manual box.

Yeah you are right. Rubbish. Waste of money.

Adn while I know that it is not going to go as well as a Caterfield. And won't handle as well as a Lotus. I really really really really want one.

I'm not vain or owt but my god can you imagine the attention you'd get?

You'll be fighting them off with a stick, the end of which you will neeed to coat in poo.

Paul

As per previous discussion on this subject, not sure if I/WE will go ahead for the following reasons:-

Deposit is very steep at £6.800 and as JJ stated it appears we are funding the move to manufacter the car at Graz
(When I placed an advance order for the Bentley GT it was only £5k for a £114k car!)

It is starting to look very expensive from the original rumoured sub £25k track car to over £40k when you start ticking carbon options and add VAT etc.....

Walter Rohl reviewed the car and whilst he was impressed there was the mention of various flaws that needed ironing out . With a new model and a relatively "low budget" enterprise building the car you can expect to be an unpaid test/endurance driver for the product.

All is not lost though......

I don't mind being the first one on Pistonheads selling an early build slot to the highest bidder.
There is always someone who has not the patience to wait for a car

Here is an interesting alternative to the £50k X Bow on PH!!!!

A winter project for a spanner man?

Not so sure if spares will be readily available :?

Wow! Interesting indeed - though no mention of an engine, even though there's one pictured... :?

Twas an Audi V6 Turbo from the old RS4 IIRC in a suitably nutter state of tune :D
