Make sure you are nice and gentle with their Exige.

Be sure and give it back with plenty of tred on the tyres, life in the clutch, meat on the pads.

Update....Still waiting... :(

Dupont can't match the paint! FFS!

There are 3 Ti cars awaiting paint but the ti paint is a different colour!

Also got a call yesterday from Bell insurance saying they had finally got admission of liability, a bit like I got on 22 March.... dozy buggers

Bad luck mate.

Have they told you how long it'll be until you get it back?

At least you've got your porker to keep you busy, just a same the elise is missing the start of the summer.

No I still have the elise, it's drivable but I suspect the wheel, toe link or rack is buggered as I now have a vibration at around 80tuts so I'm not that keen on driving it as it will wear the rest of the components with the vibration...

Got the Norlog crash management team on the case though, just waiting for the paint :( I'll have an S2 to play with by the looks ofthings when it goes in, maybe even an S2 Exige (Please Russ!)

Norlog have:

Steve: Crash management consultants
Russ: High spec hire cars
Stephen: reputable paint and body shop
Olly: Pheonix motorsport, excellent garage
Michael: Personal injury lawyer firm

Pretty much got the NW stitched up

Sorry, I just assumed it had gone in already.

Looks like you've got an ace team on your side there :thumbsup

Fingers crossed it's sorted soon.

Getting a bit tired of it all TBH but I know they are trying their best! Aslo I don't think i'd have got it done any quicker anywhere else... :?

richard,

know how your feeling, I pranged my elise on the 6th of March and i'm still waiting for it to be fixed.

The latest yesterday was that Arnold Clarks "specialist bodyshop" have ordered and fitted the wrong clam. Impressive stuff seeing as they have had the car in since the 30th of April. W@NKS!!!

Meanwhile i've missed Tut Towers and all this good weather driving around in a micra.......

:thumbsdown

UPDATE!

Post by Rich H » Wed Jul 18, 2007 7:51 am

The Elise goes in on Friday! Just in time for it's MOT too.

No news on the replacement but I suspect it's going to be an S2'yota.

Now all I need is someone to crash into the Porsche....

Glad its turned out ok!
My other half had a bus clip her at a junction and drive off! Police viewed the footage and said it was the buses fault but was not admissible evidence! It took 2 years to sort out through the courts before the bus co accepted liability

Well I have a shiney 111R now for the next couple of weeks in Lazer blue.

Its nice enough but I don't like the brakes! The pedal travel is huge and I daren't heel and toe! Its also got air con and every bit of ali tat going

Not explored second cam properly yet...

Might also cost you a lot of cash when you see how good they are and you decide to upgrade...

My initial impressions of half a day's blatting:

Nope, I'll stick to my S1. TBH I don't particularly like the 111R.

Brakes are horrible, no feel and the pedal travel is rubbish! I think heel and toe will kill me...

The stage 2 is great but drones alot at certain revs, a bit too invasive. I thought there was a hole in the zorst initially! Getting a bit old for loud exhausts now...

The power delivery is also going to take some getting used to, it struggles to cope with very slow traffic, there seems to be a lack of low down torque, dunno maybe I'm spoilt with the CR box on my S1, also I was expecting wonderful things to happen when second cam came in... distinctly underwhelmed I'm afraid. Maybe I need to try it a bit more

I like the roof, not that it's stopped raining. Always been envious of the short roof

Air con has been nice while stuck in traffic.

Seats are a bit narrow, but the padding is much improved. Seem to be sitting higher than the S1, might just be me.

Miss my harnesses :(

All in all I'm not that impressed. Yes its faster, easier to drive and more comfortable but on the road it's lost the raw, flying by the seat of your pants feel to it, its become tamed when compared to my old tatty S1.

I'm defiantly sticking with NOOPS on this one :thumbsup

If you could give me a short roof with decent power delivery then you might have a sale... (Audi anyone?)

All IMHO ;)

It is very different.

The 111r set up does take a bit of getting used to as I found coming from an S2 Elise 111s.

I found the brakes much better, The Elise ones slowed me but wouldn't stop me, where as the 111R Exige set up would.

I had the Stage two and an ITG and it was load but fun, but then it was not my everyday car.

I have never had a problem with slow traffic and the 111R Exige set up and the 111R Exige set up has a 6x speed CR box.

The Second cam is great when it comes in, but it was very hard to keep it on the cam because it kept dropping off.

I have since had the Motorsport ecu upgrade which drops the second cam to 5700 but you don't get half the impact when second cam comes in. But the car is much more drivable now and easier to keep on cam.

The Aircon works in the south of France and keeps the car comfortable. The S1 Aircon was rubbish in comparison.

If you want harnesses and Sports pack seats are the same seats that was in the S1 Exige but with a different trim.

It is faster and more comfortable as you say, but it also has more ability as well. maybe you just need to push it hards
