We stayed down near Val de Vienne circuit a couple of years ago and I took home info on this event with a view to incorporating it into a holiday.....but as usual it gets pushed back to the end of a "to do list" and unfortunately forgotten about.Could you post up a few comments/review of it....did you attend the whole weekend...I recall there being a broad mix of vehicles attending each event and it's a pleasant town to stay in(we over-nighted there,in fact made it from Dunning in 1 session)

I have a house 30mins away from Angoulême and for the past 7 years have been attending this event - past 2 yrs officially with Club Lotus France.
Great weekend is the only way to describe it but it is steadily getting busier and busier each year. We usually go for 2-3 weeks.

Sound idilic :D
Your location will be OK for Le Mans as well I'm guessing. We liked the region, went in late August/Sept and needed air-con in car and house.Country-side had plenty of quiet roads and loads of villages to explore.....Oradour-sur-Glane was a day out we weren't sure about doing but glad we went all the same.
Because it was only 1 night and at the end of a long drive we crashed in a cheap "travel-lodge" place on the fringes of Angloeme......never again!!......booked on net so unseen but what a dive, room smelt/looked like an ash-tray.... And I'm not that fussy.
Anyways, enjoy your next trip....I'm off to google search for info :cheers
