If you have been reading the "Santa Arrived Early" thread you will be aware that I bought a new car a couple of weeks ago. The weather has been surprisingly kind for the time of year so I decided to take some snaps of it in my drive whilst it was still semi-clean.

A couple of disclaimers (i) It was overcast and the colour looks so much better when it is sunny. (ii) For some reason my camera had been left set at ISO 640 so the quality is poor and grainy. Other than that you hopefully get the idea.

P.S.
The real reason for taking the pictures was so that I could update my avatar as Mikeyb13 was having nightmares :D

I far prefer Burnt Orange to my old C/O

Nice car and you've been lucky with the weather!

Burnt orange-def the best colour! Funny, I felt it was easier to get the richness of the colour in overcast weather. Sunny weather made it look like the focus orange.....

Not me I'm afraid. Hopefully it will be dry tomorrow and I can get a wee shot. Other than the drive home I still haven't gotten through a tank of fuel yet

I thought the roads were dry this morning so decided to go for a wee run. Unfortunately the roads were mauhket :( so car got kind of dirty. 048s are interesting on running mud  fortunately I was just crawling as I had just passed a couple of lovelies on horses :D

I stuck the camera in the car and was heading for home when I spotted a location which I thought might work for a "photo shoot". Not sure if it worked well or not :scratch What do you think?

Ignore the dirty car and the poor attempt and photoshopping out some of the street furniture - is that the right term?

Please forgive the parking across 2 disabled bays  The place was closed and deserted. I now fully expect to see one of my pictures posted on http://www.YouParkLikeaC*nt.com :D I would have 'shopped out the markings but my skills don't stretch that far.

Background works well, car looks fantastic. Clone out the disabled bay markings in time for next years calendar!

:thumbsup

Thanks :) Like I said, my skills are limited. Generally I just lassoo part of the image next to the bit I want to clone out and that works fine ... until you hit the perspective of monoblock! I think it would be easier to go back with a clean car and park more strategically. I don't think I noticed the disabled markings until I was home and looking at the images - rookie!

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 which I have had for years but never worked out how to use it properly. My preference is just to take the pictures without post processing required - life's too short :D
