Knockhill footage- Some Lotus content.

Post by kenny » Mon Sep 25, 2006 8:52 pm

Gav posted this on TRS, its footage from back when he had a CTR.

Some Lotus content and a S2000 spinning into the tyre wall at Duffus, if I remember correctly he annoyed a fair few Elise owners that night.

Think it ended up mounting the tyre wall, it wasnt written off but would have been a hefty repair bill.

Unusual crash - it didn't seem to me as though he was going that fast - does anyone actually know what happened?

Anyway, I liked the manouevre up the back straight :-)

Poor bloke - S2000 - they always end up in the armco at the 'ring and KH it would seem ...

Cheers,
Robin

When I realised he wasnt going to let me passed up the straight I backed off and gave him some room, not really sure what he did after that. He didnt even put any opposite lock on when he lost the back end either :?

Another S2000 went off at Spa a couple of weeks ago too

As I recall the driver was the asian lad (Chinese/Japanese) who turned up with a voucher for money off an experience day expecting to use it at a HM event.

He was rather loud and brash in the queue and waited until he got halfway up the stairs before asking about insurance, think it was something like "Yeah and Knockhill insure the cars don't they"

I've been to a few track days now and most if not all drivers get a positive reaction, even from complete strangers, when they take their car off "hope he's Ok, I can lend you a trailer to move the car, doesn't seem that bad etc etc etc" On this occasion someone stopped me and asked what had happened, and when I said that the S2000 had hit the barriers the guy replied "hope he didn't take anyone out with him" and "at least the tracks safe now"

You can just about make out the back of Kevin's caterham heading into the pit lane on the previous lap, I was already at the pit marshals post making my complaint which is why he got the black flag.

Gearbox would be a nightmare. Install in the S2000 is longditudinal, but transverse in the Elise.
2010 Honda VFR1200F
1990 Honda VFR400 NC30
2000 Honda VTR1000 SP1

What does it say?

AFAIK, you can't mount the engine in an Elise because it's longitudinally mounted. Shame though cos it's a peach.
