quite a good track for racing, but a short track for a track day- we were lapping in 55/56 secs. (class A) The section from the start through paddock in to Druids was excellent fun though :D

I remember that day well - on the way home a car pulling a horse box lost it in the road works and blocked one lane of the M11; then someone decided to do a U-turn (there was a contraflow in the road works, so only cones between the two directions) to avoid the traffic, except they didn't have enough steering lock to make the turn and ended up dropping the wheels into a big ditch at the central reservation. Lots of workmen there for the roadworks, but they weren't prepared to help, so this guy just blocked the entire contraflow for ages :-)

That was also the first time I drove an S1 Exige in anger - Steve (2nd from left in bottom picture) had just got his and let me take it out for a session - mental car! On the next session he spaded it chasing me in the elise (he was catching me hand over fist, I hasten to add!).

Andy - you should do it if you can - the last race is at Brands, remember!

Cheers,
Robin
