L-on-T Oulton Park

Hi gents,
I assume that there are a few L-on-T members out there, so whats the score on training? The girlfriend lives in Preston so Oulton park is quite convienient and there is a L-on-T day on the 21st Jan.
I have been looking for some driver training with consistant write ups that dosn't require a trip to North Weald and Mr Walshy (Though undoubtedly worth it!)
Any thoughts?

IMHO - You'd need to have planet sized bollocks to attempt Oulton Park in the winter.
Superb track but not the most forgiving.

Rich,
You can get training with LoT instructors for £10-15 for half a dozen laps and its excellent. It's more lines and finer points of driving the circuit rather than Walshy style basic car control skills. No substitute for a Walshy day IMHO.
Wait for Walshy at Crail in May...?
Cheers,
Ali

Maybe I'll just go and watch then... (Bollock measurement not required!

)
Thanks

you could always just drive well within your limits and build them up slowly, then no need to have bollocks the size of planets.

Yeah - the rear clam "enhancements" are a bit of a give away

In all seriousness Rich, I'd usually agree with Neil about building up speed on a track etc etc... But Cadwell in winter is probably not the best learning ground - it only takes a split second lockup or getting a tyre on the wrong bit of grass to end up a passenger into the tyres, no matter how steady you are.
Prolly better getting to a specific walshy day at North Weald, or doing a bit of learning at Knockhill first off. Best way is to start getting lots of pax laps and then go out yourself on a SIDC day or similar - there are always instructors available there.
Then see if Walshy makes it up in May.

.....ah
TBH - I've got zero mental or physical energy.... ddin't stop the boss 'requesting' that I pop in today and tomorrow though...
From what I've seen of oulton, the advice probably still stands

I'd like to do Oulton during the summer, when there's a chance of getting some grip round the back end of the circuit.
Cheers
