Anyway, on the new site there is a list of this years track nights.

6th April
18th May
18th June
13th July
23rd August

I'll probably call Claire/Paul/Brian in the morning to find out the costs but they tend to be slightly cheaper as the track nights are shorter. Just a heads up.

OK... here's the deal. Prices have gone up at Knockhill (but I think everyone knows that).

As usual, sign-on for each evening will be from 5pm-5:30pm.. track opens 6pm-8pm. So no changes there.

If you book a month in advance, it is £60. If you book within a month then £65. On the night, £70. However, this years track nights are being run in conjunction with Star Performance so they don't think it will be clear cut that there are places left on the night. I know in the past that Brians aim was not to make money from the tracknights, but just to break even (or thereabouts)... so I'm pretty sure the price rises will have been a necessity due to increased cost of track hire rather than any attempt at making a mint.

I can't make the April date, as the wife and I are off to Aberdeen for a dirty weekend. Hopefully be at the May event for some practice before TT.

Ive never been to Dreadnought night so might head up for a look-see.

£70 for 2 hours!?! Now that really is beginning to take the p1ss!

£70 for two hours is a joke, add in the chance of red flags ( I have been at 2 hour evening sessions where the track was only open for one hour) and you are not getting much for your money.

Sad, but true - I had a full day (9-4) at Oulton 2 weeks ago with LoT: £79!

I won't be doing any of them at that price.

Actually, the one and only Dreadnought night I have done a Jag (IIRC) dumped its oil before doing a full lap of the circuit. 45mins later the track was reopened but we had to take it slow for the rest of the evening due to the amounts of cement dust on track.

I also remember being overtaken through the chicane. That was an experience

When the Jag shot its load (oo-er) I hit the slick at the braking point to Duffus, fishtailed all over the place but managed to get it around the corner before nearly losing it again. All with a Noble alongside me in a similar state of sideways.

Same Noble undertook me braking into the hairpin.

Surprisingly I wasn't that bothere by the lack of overtaking rules. Once you got used to it it fine. Dont know if I would fancy it in the Exige.

Fair enough... I'm not trying to tought it or anything... just another option. They used to be £50 in advance, but as far as I can see most of the trackdays have taken a hit this year. It's actually £60, but jump on the highest price mentioned if you want

As already mentioned... overtaking either side, but only meant to be at the usual passing places. The overtaker is responsible for making sure it's safe.

If my wife was able to handle it, then I'm sure it's nothing to you lot.
We will be at 2 or 3 of the evenings this year.

I've done a number of Dreadnought nights and spectated a few also... Only seen 1 Tuscan die in all that time... also saw 1 Elise explode oil over the track and lots of bits of metal....

Racecars are another story .

Dreadnought nights are a great laugh - run closer to a testing session than SIDC with more of a blind eye turned to where you can and can't overtake (ie. you can get closer to the corners) but given the nature of their customers etc I don't have an issue with that (perhaps they should left folk know when they book)

Never did that many last year - mainly due to Brunty hosting nights that had a larger elise make up, might try and get in a few this year with the caterham though.
