LoT Cadwell + Spa - Easter 2013

Hi Folks,

Jo tells me that she has had to move her Cadwell date from April 1st to Saturday March 30th 2013 (the day before Easter Sunday).

She also tells me that Circuit Days have Spa on Sunday March 31st and Monday April 1st 2013 and she might well get some spaces on those days for LoT customers.

Sooooo I know some of us are planning to do the LoT Spa day on March 18th but maybe we should instead do Cadwell on Saturday, drive to Spa on Sunday, Spa on Monday, return home on Tuesday?

Any views?

I don't have pricing info yet, but possibly there could be a small discount for booking both days at once.

P.S. I also note that the March 18th Spa date is sold out at present, so anyone that thought they were going to do that and hasn't yet paid might want to do this instead?

P.P.S. Jo also said there is a possibility of http://www.destination-nurburgring.com/ ring track day following on from the Spa track day for those that have the desire.

There will only be 10 spaces available at Spa for LoT customers, so if we want to book as double header we should crack on with it.

We could use the Hull-Rotterdam or Hull-Zeebrugge ferry.

It's approx 1 hour from Cadwell to Hull, so if we pack up at 17:00, on the road by 17:30, check in by 19:00 we could get Hull-Rotterdam ferry (latest check in is 19:00).

We would need to leave 2 hours earlier from Cadwell (or break the speed limit) to get Hull-Zeebrugge which leaves 2 hours earlier.

Sounds like a proper SE jaunt - I'm, 95% certain to be going - just need to confer with Rossini to see what he's up to ...

P.S. It's only 2.5 hours from Rotterdam to Spa; the return ferry check in closes at 19:30 so those that wanted to head back straight after Spa could do so if leaving Spa at 16:30 with a disciplined approach to traffic on the way north Dominic might be able to advise on best routing/least likely to hit traffic on what will be Easter Monday.

P.P.S. Just checked pricing on ferry - it's £268 return for a car plus two people, cheap cabin; no doubt cheaper if you get a gang bang cabin with 100 of you in it

P.^3S. Some people might fancy heading down to Cadwell the night before - last time I was anywhere near there, there didn't seem to be anywhere obvious to stay. So it might make sense to pick a town in a 1 hour radius North - North West of Louth and stay there instead.

Secondly - I'm pleased to let you know that we've been offered 2 great days at the Nürburgring so far, April 2nd and 3rd 2013.
If you haven't already worked out - that's the Tuesday and Wednesday immediately following the Easter weekend so I'm pretty happy. Interestingly, it also follows 2 days at Spa Francorchamps with our friends at Circuit-Days.co.uk, so presents a great opportunity!

Booking - Please keep an eye on the website at www.destination-nurburgring.com. As soon as I have confirmed timing/pricing I will open booking. Priority will be given to existing customers, but all enquiries will be logged.

Finally - I'm also happy to report that my friends working for the Nürburgring appear to still have their jobs, albeit with a different company, and the calendar is almost set for 2013, they're just waiting for F1 to decide which weekend in July they want.
Once that's set, the provisional event calendar, including Touristenfahrten Public days, will be published officially.

So it looks like 'all systems go' at the Nürburgring!

Keen to try Cadwell in my ageing S1, for sure. But wouldn't drag the old gal all the way to Spa so soon after last trip there, I think. Wonder if there is somewhere safe I could leave UJI after Cadwell while Alistair and I flog the S2000 all the way to Spa and back?!

To make it manageable people could perhaps club together in pairs - of course assuming you have somebody you trust to drive your car around Spa and the Ring.

I'll update the thread with DN pricing when available.

Alternately you can use the chunnel, given that you have all of 31/3/13 to get there ... e.g. stop over somewhere southbound on evening of 30/3, then chunnel around noon on 31/3 and return around noon on 2/4 is approx £50 each way (plus the travel lodge).

Did you actually pay - there are -1 spaces showing on LoT site and you are not in the confirmed list?

The 18th date is run by Paul Golding whereas the other date is Jo's date via LoT UK and Circuit Days hook up.

I'm sure Paul won't mind but it would be best to contact Paul first to cancel the 18th and then book with LoT UK for the other date(s).
