Maybe they got wind of us talking to SIDC about doing our own day.

Its not that at all!
Its all to do with planning permission.

Some cnut complained about noise levels and mmc only have planning for bike events. All other car events "on hold" until things are resolved.
A real shame!!!

So does this mean the chance of a SIDC is nil?

I was speaking to the organisers after the last one and they mentioned that they would be rescheduling the date, but not that it would be cancelled altogether. Oh well, saves me money that I can put towards my next car I suppose...

Please forgive the impersonality of this mail but I need to give information to quite a few folks at the same time.
Due to a situation which has developed between local residents and the circuit landowners over the amount and type of circuit useage ( established or otherwise) the circuit operators have regrettably had to take the decision that the organisation of all Trackdays (Cars & Bikes) have had to be put on hold. That is until the matter can be satisfactorily resolved which hopefully will not be too long. At Javelin we fully appreciate and support the positon of the Circuit Operators. They have worked long and hard on a voluntary basis to create an excellent facility and their first duty is to protect the future of motorcycle racing which is the venues primary purpose. They have achieved this over the years by working responsibly and closely with the local population.
Unfortunately this means that the event due to take place on 27th May has had to be cancelled and other dates put on hold for the forseeable future. We would especially like to thank those of you who demonstrated full commitment to the event in the form of payment and you will recieve a full refund within the next 48hours.
I would just like to add that this is not an irreversable situation. Provided the Circuit Owners and Operators are allowed to negotiate unhindered. As is normal in cases such as this some iresponsible and ill informed rumours and web forum threads will undoubtedly spring up. In fact I have already been made aware of one. Your help in passing on the CORRECT reason for cancellation and situation would be much appreciated.
The 27th May date was likely to have to change due to a double booking at the circuit but this is not the reason for cancellation.
The operators have assured us that we will be welcome back and I look forward to seeing you all at East Fortune in the future

It would appear that Javelin have also just joined as members, so any comments from or to them would of course be welcome.
