Just spoken to Javelin about access on the day... here's the jist of it...
The pit and paddock is in the middle so you need to use part of the track to get into and out of it. What they will do is close the track at certain times during the day (depending on nos. waiting to get in/out) to allow access, probably 2/3 times in the morning and 2/3 times in the afternoon.
HTH.
Dave.

Chaps, just for info, a Scottish Sevener who lives about 3 miles from EF informs me
that the petrol station in Haddington stopped being Shell about 2 years ago
Hope this is of use
I will be chibbing him on the day (goatee beard, red Superlight) about nearest/best petrol station
Might have to be East Linton or North Berwick for Super-dooper unleaded...

Use a BP then, Ultimate is better than Optimax anyway

Shugmobile pinks on Ultimate, not on Opti.
Mapped for Opti, so conclusive proof that Ultimate is deffo a lower RON (97, as opposed to 98, methinks)

Aforementioned Scottish Sever kindly did a recce of the area today and reports (thanks Jason

):
The Shell garage info folk are getting off the interweb is very out of date. The garage at East Linton has also gone now So, as I said in the other thread, the closest Shell is in Leith. Therefore, the only decent fuel in this area is Esso Super 97 at North Berwick,
here.
As for circuit access, Lawrence's info is still correct It looks like a farm gateway, with no signs indicating the circuit's presence - just a "Private" notice! Hopefully Javelin will have a board in the verge. If you've crossed the railway bridge (when heading East) then you've missed it. Pretty roughly surfaced track too.
Another thing to be aware of is that the roads around here can be very muddy at this time of year, courtesy of the farmers' tractors Worth proceeding with caution.

Not going by Evo magazines recent test, they found (okay on an M5) that Ultimate was nearly as good as 'race fuel'
But on a golf GTi the difference wasn't as great, but I'm sure the Ultimate gave more BHP.......
I don't think it makes any difference to my basic K though, does it?

Yeah, Basic K doesn't have a knock sensor so shouldn't make any difference unless your car is set up to take advantage of it.

Not a sod of difference in a basic K.
There's no knock sensor to fiddle ingition timing to take advantage of better fuel. Mine is mapped to Optimax, so I can be more aggressive with the ignition.
Ultimate does make the engine pink a bit - basically meaning it's not as high octane. Dunno if the M5's ECU detects more about the fuel than knock resistance, meaning it could tune itself differently?
Higher octane doesn't give more power in itself (it doesn't provide a bigger 'bang') but lets the engine safely run more ignition advance - potentially providing more power.
