Had been planning on booking this up last minute but sadly the Exige won't be ready in time (need to get some welding done on the exhaust)

If it wasn't for the fact the Civic has a dodgy exhaust then I'd be using that, but now looks like it'll be sold without me ever having done a trackday in it.
May still pop up for a bit to spectate though

Doesn't look like I will be able to do this after all, I seem to have run out of money which considering I just blew £40k+ on a new car isn't in itself surprising but I have never heard Ruth use the 'N' word before

hope it doesn't become a habit

I am, down at Murrays for it's first service and then up to KH for the hot marques session last night, on track the car comes alive. Will take some Walshy lessons to learn how to drive it properly but even with my ham fisted driving it was still one of the quickest things out there. What a car
BTW for all of you that are going down, T in the park is right next to the Kinross services and the open is on as well so watch out for the coppers!! never seen so many in one place as I did last night. Be careful

Hi,
Hoping to get some advice from you guy's. Looks like this could be my first wet track day, currently got 48's on the car, would it be better for me to put on AD07's. Not sure if the 48's would make things a bit too exciting for me if its pretty wet.
Any advice welcome
Cheers

Unless the tyres are really bold, I wouldn't worry too much about the 048s. If the track is wet, just drive slowly. The limit of tyres are reached at much slower speed so it is a good opportunity to improve your car control.
I like the wet track as I don't wear the tyres and brakes out so quickly

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Yeh as Mass has said it won't make a huge difference. You'll be slower on a wet track anyway and slides come at a much slower speed so it's great for learning the car. The groves are just for clearing water and preventing aquaplaning so if it's really wet just go slower on the straights.
I wouldn't think the AD07's would be a much softer compound so not much different I would say.
p.s. Kinger, any chance of a pax lap if I make it up.

You might not believe this, but we seem to have fewer people spinning on wet track days as the cornering speeds are a bit lower and the cars more controllable if things do get out of shape.
Just remember you are there to have fun, and no-one is trying to push you along to break the track record or go beyond your own comfort zone.

Graham, just adjust your speed to the track conditions, and enjoy the difference between wet and dry. Jump in for a few pax laps, and you will see that you can still drive around at a fair speed, you just need to caress the throttle pedal more.
