I have always used Pagid 14's on N3 apart from one disastrous incursion into CL6's which destroyed both the pads and the disks.

However new N3 had CL5's all round with 4 pots at the front, and went through SPAZZ with no problem apart from a detached pad on the rear that needed replacing, so will stick with them at present.

Great trip!

Really enjoyed all of it, the banter, the booze  , the cars and the people!

Thanks very much to BigD for being my chauffeur, 1000+ miles in the pax seat of the Elise wasn't anywhere near as bad as I'd been led to believe.

Thanks also to Ross for arranging the bum burner on Thursday night, and to all who took me for pax laps. There were even a couple of brave souls who let me loose in their cars, thanks you for that, it made my day(s).

The weather was amazing until we hit the M74 on the way back, monsoon conditions making it a little unpleasant but we got through safe and sound.

Can't wait to do it again :cheers

Interestingly, some sections of the A74M have been relaid with beautifully smooth continental grade tarmac. Whilst quiet to drive in the dry, that stuff's water dispersal is on a par with French Autoroutes'...ie, close to nil. Not surprising as I think it's the same material.

So spray and barbaric standing water are the result :-(

One tip - in future Monsoons, consider the "side road" which runs parallel from north of Happenden Services, all the way to Gretna. In most cases it's just one of the old A74 carriageways - hence straight and open - or its brand new and in good shape. Surface getting a bit rough on the original bits, but upside is better water dispersal and less spray since almost zero traffic. Downside is occasional lagoons, direct junctions to be wary of, and a couple of villages to slow for, but worth the challenge.

I often use the section between Happenden and Ecclefechan...no villages on that long bit.

No keep off it! That's my road :D

It is getting busy with trucks due to the truck stops where the drivers can get a good feed and chug away whilst watching porn in their cabs

Yeah really enjoyed it and goes pretty well. A few bits to sort out but nothing to major from looking into it :thumbsup

Was speaking to BigD about a 1" ARB, anyone ever upgraded theres? Much difference as not cheap at over £300!

Goes well for a diesel Mike :-)
Don't know how I managed to miss getting some pax laps with you other than the sighting laps at Cadwell.
