Unsure about stopover in Belgique ;-)

But Liege has an IBIS Budget, so might be swayed.

Alternatively...

Zandvoort - Eindhoven on Fri night - 2hrs

Eindhoven to Dijon on Sat - 6hrs

Dijon - Orange on Sun - 3 hrs

The brave or sober can do Eindhoven - Orange on Sat I guess :-)

yup - up for the train if we could get one!

I think splitting it over 2 days would be a good shout. Cant be arsed with 3 days of 3-4 hours per day. Might as well get it done and chill out.

Can't remember where we stayed the last time we headed that far south that had a pool onroute?

Also means we have the option to avoid rape hotels :cheers

Aye.. there was a place we stayed last time I was there, about half way down which was pretty good and had a nice pool iirc. The same place where Ali broke Golding's leg too.

I am with Gary on that one, in that it would be better to split it up over the Friday night and Saturday. I will leave the long drives for the couple of days getting back home.

No motorail options left I'm afraid. Nothing cross- continent from NL, and French Auto Train runs only from Paris, on Fridays mostly...and appears fully booked for Aug.

What about chartering a.couple of transporter trucks? Even 1-way?

We stayed in Nancy before but I think that's too far for Friday. The place with the pool where Golding had his incident was further south at Crèches-sur-Saône.

I was thinking of heading to somewhere like Luxemberg after Zandvoort which should be around 4 hours, then do the rest of the journey on Saturday which should take around 6 hours. That way no need for an early start on Saturday morning but still should get there in plenty of time for a few beers and dinner on Saturday night.

That said I'm happy to go with the flow and the advice of others who have already done this journey before.

I was going to suggest Reims or Nancy as I know some have stayed there in the past. Would Golding do a block booking and add it to the track cost for us FFers?

Luxembourg would work too though. :thumbsup

I can just imagine Andy G asking Paul to block book a hotel for us all. Where about do you all fancy staying Andy? Mmmmmmm the place with the pool, where Ali broke your leg.

What about just over the border in Bitburg, for all those that have been to the ring they'll remember the beer.

Trier is a nice Roman town in keeping with orange too. :thumbsup
