Managed to get it sideways through the hairpin a few times then I noticed Dom and DDtB standing there so thought I'd keep on at it, awesome fun :D
Synchronised sliding with the RLC was amusing too!
I got one photo of you getting it slightly sideways at the hairpin:

It did look like you were having lots of fun!

What an absolute hoot that was, thanks again John for letting me on last minute. Really enjoyed the d.i.n.g-dong with the blue S2 (sorry dont know who you were, I was in the red 111r) towards the end of the session. Hilarious. LSS suspension by any chance?! Of course, was starting to get a liitle brave by that point, I've never driven the car that hard for so long before... brilliant. Mechanically, the car never missed a beat, was running on vapour with 5mins to go, chugged around the last lap though  managed to do about 100miles and drained the tank of Shells finest, got approx 13mpg!

Was great to meet up with a few old faces, but just never got the chance to meet that many new ones, next time!

Hi Nick, it was me in the blue S2. Not LSS but Protech adjustable dampers and A048s (of the bald variety!). It's always good fun getting out with another car and trying to stick with it :D

Cheers for that photo John, any chance you can mail hi res versions of the ones you have of me?

Thanks ed.

Simon, apart from the suspension, is your car standard? Could keep pace with you on the straights but you definately had the edge through the corners.

Speaking of corners, I've finally got to grips with the top of Duffus, for long enough now I just hated that corner, would always slow down too much and lose momentum but for some reason it all just clicked into place this time and I'm much more confident commiting to it now. Used to manage 80mph, tops, through the Dip at the bottom, now i'm hitting 90... sweet! Now, if only I could suss out McIntyres

Shooomer, think the gearing, or my lack of ability to get in the right gear(!), has got more to do with it. Think I mentioned I had a problem sorting out McIntyres, I meant Clarkes, the one after the chicane?? Just can't seem to find the right line or keep the car on the boil through there... 2nd's too short and 3rd's too long... that's where I lost ground.

Mac, no plans to change, absolutely love it, but never say never... :D

shooomer wrote:You're hitting 90 at Duffus and can't keep up with Simon throught the corners
Couldn't tell you what my speed at the bottom of Duffus is but on a cool down lap I checked and my entry speed to Duffus was over 70 so I'd imagine at the bottom on a fast lap 90 would be pretty achievable, especially on 48s :)

Nick, I've not touched the engine but I've changed the suspension, tyres, exhaust and induction so should still be around 160bhp. I'll need to get it on a rolling road some time and see what it's actually at.
