Stayed in Stavelot a few years ago and it has a lovely town square with a decent Italian resteraunt. Nice old style hotel we stayed in, in the square, La Maison (original) it was called.



We went to a bar round the corner which we nicknamed the 'Star Wars' bar because of all the strange looking characters there, we didn't stay long, my mate was getting eyed-up by some toothless he/she. Ah the memories...........

Can Robin the Ready Reckoner give an estimated all-in cost of the Cadwell-Spa version of the trip, including hotels, crossings & fuel but excluding food n beer.

I may have landed some fee earning work. But my next hurdle is getting such a trip past my new Finance Director

I posted most of the figures already.

From memory, but probably accurate to 2.5% is:

Cadwell 175 and probably worth doing just that if the rest requires fantasy budgeting Cadwell is what the track day companies think of as an expensive circuit so 175 OK I think.

Return crossing with P&O is 268.

Spa is 299.

Say 2 nights in a hotel in Spa (one before, one after) at 100/night (should get it for a bit less, especially if sharing and we don't go to Bernie's palace).

Edi->Cadwell->Hull is 350 miles = £55 ish in fuel.

Rotterdam->Spa is 262km = £30 ish in fuel x 2 (there and back)

Hull - Edi is 250 miles = £40 ish in fuel.

Plus 5 refills on track = 150l = £200 ish.

Thus min total (no food/beer) is 1,297.

Assuming you don't need brakes/tyres.

You're right Robin, you did post most earlier, sorry. Been a fairly crazy couple of weeks including an allnighter last night

We are messing about with the idea of springing a surprise trip to Spa for Uncle Danny's 60th birthday, and the Feasibility Study is now on the drawing board. Well it is Alistair's wheeze, actually.

For my own part, I would be keen to set my sights upon Cadwell at the absolute most for now, and probably have a Really Good Time at that...on a budget of maybe £600 for trackday, track fuel, travelling fuel, travelsplodge, I imagine.

Much depends on the next couple of months however. If the slots are gone by the time I can commit, so be it

They probably won't sell out until maybe the last minute - there are 55 spaces and it's a long way "norf" for a lot of the English LoT people - so it's down to SE to fill the circuit

Dont mind where we stay, the hotel that D posted up does not have very good beds , going by trip advisor, and the one next door is full already.

There are lots of hotels in Spa proper which is 15km away from the circuit - not a big deal?
