What could possibly go wrong.

Tut, do you have that pic of Clare spinning your car wildly into the gravel trap handy?

Lol at Kenny,

Serious answer - my g/f Elaine is a really confident road driver with lots of experience and has tracked my car well at East Fortune - really held her own. She did not enjoy KH at all and bailed after about 10 minutes. There's no better trackday for etiquette than SIDC, but KH is a compact little place with a lot of blind crests and the like, with a lot of cars packed onto it - gets very busy keeping an eye out and if Elaine got spooked, I'd genuinely not be keen to let an inexperienced driver out in it. Only my 2c

This, especially not in an exige. Perhaps better to try a few trackdays in something less valuable / powerful or do a few experience days in single seater and the likes. Saying that, there is certainly more lassies racing in minis/xr2's and others in SMRC than I have been before.

Excellent advice/feedback. Many thanks. Have decided she aint getting behind the wheel on track at KH until she has nore experience. Might let her try out in the car park though. Can't do any damage there. :P :P :P

This dilemma is several years away for me (if ever), but it struck me that I'd consider taking a youngling to Bedfore Autodrome for a session there - loads of runoff, no blind stuff, long track with spaced out cars etc etc.

I'd also invest in a Walshy Day (perhaps for both of you together for fun?) and get the education going right from the start. Many of these principles would help on the road too.

And finally, from my initial experiences of IAM training, once she has her "standard" license, enrolling for and passing the Advanced Driving Test offers a level of risk management that many a novice would have benefitted from, I reckon.
