Frolic 13 (2015)
Re: Frolic 13 (2015)
I also think that Mt Ventoux is planned for a rest day, a nice easy trip from Orange, done it the last time, and its well worth it.

I'd be up for the Sunday route down too. Most likely I'll be leaving on Saturday down to Chunnel and as far as I can get.

Wow, look like a beached whale in that picture, must have over indulged in the cheese, sausage and red wine.....as always

Re: Frolic 13 (2015)
I've added some routes to my post from earlier this evening - http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... 64#p480264
Donald - Calais to IBIS Saint Genis (near Geneva) in 7h 30m. If you have the stamina, and you leave Bonnie Scotland at crack of dawn on Saturday, you could join us by around midnight on the Saturday.
Or split it...do 5 hrs to Dijon, hole up there for the evening, then leave sharp on Sunday and continue on Autoroutes to RV with us at Grenoble instead. If fatigue is especially bad, then just 3.5hrs to Troyes for your overnight stop instead. 4 hrs from there to Grenoble the next morning. It'll take about 3 hrs to reach Grenoble from Geneva, so you'd only have to start a couple of hours earlier than us
Then there is still a bit of Alpine Action to enjoy, n'est pas? I am only guessing though, so best explore with some who know the roads better down there?

Re: Frolic 13 (2015)
My plans are coming together steadily, Dave. Albeit with a small dependency on what "The Zandy Crew" are doing after their Friday there, as I'm looking to RV with them around Metz on Saturday morning to continue a run down towards Geneva for an overnighter Saturday, then a bit of Route Napoleon en route to Orange on the Sunday. I haven't seen an update on this as yet.
I'm on a Walshy Day at North Weald on the Friday.
Likely to stay nearby to avoid M25 Friday teatime crush, and so I'm currently looking at a daft-o'clock outward Chunnel on Saturday morning, prob around 4-5am.
Then a Sunday morning return Chunnel after the fun is all over, probably following a stopover at IBIS Calais on the Saturday night.
All subject to change, though, so I'm almost certainly buying a flex Shuttle ticket. Not cheap, but would take a lot of stress out I think...

Campbell,
When I spoke to Hendeg, he mentioned about staying in Luxembourg on the Friday night after Zandy and then meeting up with you on the Saturday morning in Metz.

Great stuff.
So that's coffee near Metz at 10am on Sat 15th. Check.
I'll be needing it after an early start!
Are you at Zandy as well now Stu?
