LoT Cadwell + Spa - Easter 2013

I've stayed here once before and it was absolutely fine. Nice wee pub, ok food and they serve beer. What more do you want.

Friday 29th March. Drive South for a bit.
Friday 29th March (slightly later). Arrive Englandshire.
Friday 29th March (later still). Wonder why everyone else is going to Lincolnshire too. Continue driving South cursing the traffic. Try not to get stopped for speeding.
Friday 29th March (later still). Conclude that they aren't all going to Lincolnshire after all, but may in fact be just heading in the same general direction.
Friday 29th March (nearly dark now). Realise I don't know where Lincolnshire is. Look at map. Keep eyes peeled for other poor quality sports cars (or, based on previous experience, parts thereof).
Friday 29th March. Arrive Black Horse pub. Drink beer. Eat food, ideally find others in pub I recognise or who recognise me and talk sh*t at them for a bit.
Saturday 30th March. Go to Cadwell Park and drive around in circles for a bit. Then drive home.
Saturday 30th March (but later) arrive home.
Sunday 31st March. Go to work.

Obviously some of the details are changeable but that's the gist of it. I might take a long route down depending on weather or company or "being arsedness".

Neil and I will be departing from sunny bo'ness around 13:00 hours on Friday. It will take as long as it takes to get there, being Good Friday. Although about 60 miles longer I am very tempted to do M8/M6/M62/M18/M180 from bo'ness rather than A68/A1 kind of route.
I would love to be in the bar of the Black Death sipping a pint of euro fizz by 20:00, but who knows when we'll actually get there.

Saturday is, as Pete describes, driving around in circles. Then you would head home and we'll head for hull around 17:00.

Your call on stopping over Sat vs heading home after the track day.

My spa track day on Monday has just been cancelled because of snow. .boo hoo..

At least your day was cancelled before you left. We drove over to the ring years ago (first and only LoT day at the ring) only to get there and have the day cancelled due to snow lying on the circuit. We did walk half the circuit in the snow (and flip flops, as it happens ) which was cool ... but would rather have driven it or just remained at home in the first place.

Remember the sinking feeling as we left the black roads and started going uphill with the start of the snow and seeing it get deeper.

Had fun covering Ian Wilson's car completely in snow outside the Hotel, then leaving at some silly hour in the morning to drive all the way back to Edinburgh then Old Deer in one go.

Worryingly, I find myself considering just that approach for collecting a car from deepest Englandshire next month!
