English Track Recommendations

Post by Rory » Fri Jun 29, 2007 1:27 pm

Looking for recommendations of which English tracks are worth the journey. Going to try to do one more this summer, having done Croft twice already this year (and twice before).

So, is Silverstone GP (Goldtrack) worth the 7 hours or so each way?
Or is Oulton a great track, at about half the travel distance?
Any others that are better?

Recommendations welcome....just bear in mind I drive a CTR, so I don't like my tracks too tight (eg. Kames is a nightmare, KH is good, Croft is awesome.)

Ta

Oulton and Cadwell 8)
Silverstone is just to big and wide - no sensation of speed

Yup, Cadwell, Oulton and Donny (in that order for me).

Handy the best ones are closest to us. :D

Are Oulton and Cadwell tight, in terms of run-off, or no worse than Knockers?

Just wary of tracks I've never driven before...either for real or 'virtually'.

Cadwell is tighter in places, Oulton much the same KH although speeds higher...

They both have a mixture of corners with lots of run off and some with barriers fairly close.

Donington more open than either.

Although in Wales :D , the new Anglesey is fantastic (esp the Coastal circuit, & should be on everyone's list of "must do's"). Would be really great to meet up with you SE guys there - if there is enough interest, we could talk to LOT or Bookatrack about a joint booking for 2008 (2007 weekends are booked through to November) - I reckon I could muster up at least 25 attendees (mainly Exiges, but Elises too). Thoughts on a new thread?

Can't dissagree with any of the earler posts either, Oulton, Cadwell & Donington are superb (personally, I don't like "flat" circuits at all).

PS Sorry for thread drift
