had a look in the parts manual and it appears to be quite a difference in the make up of both sets of pulleys?

Next Q...

anyone got any spare VVC cam pulleys (inlet/exhaust) they wish to sell me or know where I can get?

VVC Pulleys contain dark magic.

The inlet cam on a VVC is the one that does the timing shift, but it's actually connected at the other end to the exhaust cam - which has a pulley inside a pulley - look at the manual and get your head in a twist. ;)

I don't even pretend to know exactly how it works.

As I told you magic enters the VVC mechanism and the valve timing changes for the better. Just remember to keep the magic toped up, there is a filler cap on the top marked 710, just ask in halfords....

None of the VVC magic takes place in the pulleys. The front exhaust pulley has a built-in damper, that's why its so expensive.

Both inlet pulleys (front & rear) and the rear exhaust pulley are identical. Only the front exhaust pulley is different.
