My radio is beeping lots and doing my head in!!!

Post by bobnitro » Sat Aug 11, 2007 9:41 am

Hi guys,

My car has one of those DAB Digital Blaupunkt radio thingies, which is nice.

However, my car went in for it's new heater fan motor, and since I got it back, it now makes a beep every 30 secs or so. Not sure if it is related to the work that was done or the fact that my wife drove it home and was pressing all the buttons

Anyway, before being all sensible and reading the manual, i thought that i would see if anyone else has had this problem first.

Thanks

Bob (The leader of the Beeping radio faction)

I seem to remember mine doing this. I'm sure it's your wife that has been pressing the buttons. She's maybe pressed the button for traffic updates or something like that. Try pressing the button to switch that off or have a wee look at the manual.

Mine did that when it was set to auto-switch between DAB and normal radio when the DAB signal was weak (which was about every 30secs, actually).

Mine did the same. Cant remember what caused it or what I did to stop it but it probably involved randomly pushing buttons and shouting. Infact.. JJ's suggestion sounds a bit familiar.

I'm with Dezzy on the traffic updates. If its the same stereo is I've got the button is where preset 6 should instinctively be - easy to hit when you're trying to find something decent on the radio

My usual solution to fixing strange noises in the car is to turn up the stereo.... guess that wont work in this case

It's the TRAF traffic button - switch it off :

This is a handy place :
