Stutter and loss of power then dies...

This S2 111R is not well at all :(

Today just going to pick up my dinner, under 30 mph and lost power, got a misfire and engine revs falling, stop at a junction and it died. Restarted ok, assumed it was me.

On the way back at around 20-30 mph in traffic, same thing loss of power adn misfire then it dies, not in the best of areas so dropped a cog and lifted the clutch, engine bumps back to life but won't idle, needs revs to keep alive.

Now I know just less than FA about these yota thing, is this common? Was very disconcerting, had I been trying something sporting it could have been messy...

Give me a K and I'll bully it into life (Of at least know where to look for bits!)

Have e-mailed the hire co. Will call them tomorrow.

Cheers
Rich

PS I checked the basics, oil water and fuel all ok, no working fuel gauge but filled up 15 miles ago.

Texaco garage, not supermarket. Could have been I suppose. I brimmed the tank with 31 litres so its possible.

The ECU has a habit of letting the engine stall, but not while the throttle is open. Car is probably just broken ... rev the living daylights out of it for a while and see how you get on with that ;-)

Given it back got he silver shed back now! All clean, shiney and tracking straight!

As for the 111r they reckoned it has water in the fuel and it's happened on another of their cars?? Dunno what was going on, fuel was fresh form texaco, none of that supermarket sh*t.
