Just noticed something weird today while changing a bulb. On one side of the car the brake light is to the offside of the car and to the other it's the same, if that makes sense, ie it's as if I have two same handed units fitted.
Obviously not right- brake light should be to the outside on both. Anyone know if these units are actually handed?
It would appear so as the bulb holders to each side of the unit don't seem to be interchangeable so it's not as if the holders have simply been swapped over accidently on one unit. Or can the units be rotated 180 degrees- perhaps one is fitted upside down?

I think Ken's was like this and it's that one is simply upside down and just needs rotated 180 degrees.

Bert, I had it too - you need to remove the whole unit and rotate - easy enough to do.

Bert my lights are now sorted out but whilst Ali was doing this as part of my service I noticed that one of my fog lights was the wrong way around as well so two out of the four where the wrong way round

Actually, bollocks, in my case this is another item to add to the growing list of incompetent feck-ups inflicted upon my car by a well known 'specialist' dealer who shall remain nameless....the more I poke about the car the more sub-standard workmanship i've found- wish I had paid more attention at the time but was just glad to have it back after months getting 'repaired'.
GRRRRRRR
Phew. I feel better now. Sorry. Rant Over

On a lighter note, nice to hear good things about Ali...sounds like he could get rather busy

Yes I think that he will, as he will listen to what you want looked at on the car and then does it - what a strange and winning concept
It will be good to see what difference the boot realignment makes - anyone want to buy some goldfish that have become homeless
