Rover Engine SWAP???

Has anyone ever put a VHPD from an S1 Exige into a S2 elise and if so, how was it???? :scratch

Not sure,but I think you will have problems with the throttle bodys.The S2 sport 190,(which is a fantastic car) has a trick set of right angle ones on it if I recall,to tit inside the boot lid.

I would change the whole car ,or fit a PTP 165 kit.

There are lots of people running 190ish bhp K series S1s - I would imagine it`ll be a bit quicker but not as reliable potentially :D

The S2 190 intake is actually not right angle, just really compact tracts with individual throttles on them. The trumpets are very short and far from ideal.

If you can live without the boot wall (or a large part of it) and you don't mind grafting a bonnet pin onto the back to hold down the boot lid, then you can fit the S1-style TBs and as big an airbox/trumpet setup as you fancy.

You'll struggle a bit with the loom, but it is doable. You will need to take the alternator and some other bits and pieces from the old S2 engine, though.
