Anti-tizz bracket - really does work

Finally got round to fitting this, it's a Rover made bracket that fits onto the bolts that join the manifold to the downpipe/flexi section. Then bolts to two threaded holes in the engine block. Have to admit I was sceptical it would work, but it's pretty much got rid of all exhaust tizz!

Fiddly job, or a complete pita if the bolts are rusted to fek like mine were. Well worth doing tho.

Fitted mine last summer but it didn't cure the noise I was hearing (a real rattle at 2500rpm in 5th), so still trying to trace it...

Yes it was a real pita to fit, especially since I had to reverse the car up on ramps and had to work around a hot exhaust too - didn't have time to let it cool.

I'm finding there's nothing easy to work on with an Elise, everything seems to be in everything else's way.

Try getting the tizz going and then gently pulling on the handbrake... My tizz then suddenly disappears but I CBA to fix it.

Well while I was fitting the bracket I did put new foam under all the break cable sections and sorted other bits arond there that may have been rattling. I wonder if that was what fixed the tizz  :D
