make sure you have a easy bleed, makes life easy
my very early S1 required the windscreen support low down modding to get access to the front pipes with a spanner
their is a online guide

I had to chop holes in the crash structure to get to the inboard front joints...

Stop being a mincer. Fit the top of the hose in place and bleed until fluid pishes out of the bottom of the line, then attach to calliper. Het presto new brake lines!

...and don't forget to bleed the clutch at the same time to renew all the hydraulic fluid in the system. Used my Dremmel to cut holes in the crash structure, worked a treat. Now got a nice 'solid' brake pedal :thumbsup

Top tip though when you do it twist the brake line so you can screw it into the caliper without any twist left in it (IYKWIM) otherwise it will undo its self!
