help me.

I've got some video footage from Cadwell that i wanna put on the net. Mac is eing kind enough to put my KH vid on his site, but i dont wanna have his banwidth taking a beating. As if i know what that means

!!!

So, Sanjoy and the likes, give me your help and wisdom

The footage is 131mb and is a Mov file. It plays on quicktime player. Is there a site like a photobucket one but for vids that i can fire it up on?? If so, w t f do i do???

Erm, best bet is to compress it more... If in doubt - fire it off to me on a CD (will PM my addy) and I'll do some squeezing/cutting. I don't know of any sites that offer the service of which you speak (ready to be corrected on this) simply because of bandwidth costs....

Reminds me, must bang my footage on to HD and edit it... In fact - what about a wee compilation of the SE footage?

At the end of the day, it might be better to put a highlights package, or a series of individual smaller laps on the net...

You can send it over to me if you want and I will host it (eventually).

Just been mega busy over the last few weeks covering 3 jobs at w*rk + all the stuff you want to do when you moving in to a new place.

Things should start to settle down in 2-3 weeks and I should hopefully get some free time to sort it out.

Right then. I'll burn 2 cd's. One for Mac and one for Shug.

Mac, if you can host this it would be fantastic. But really, i dont want it costing you anything be it webspace or cash. If you want anything, just pm me and we'll sort something out.

Shug, have you got anywhere to host it?? I'll send it off anyway with my wet Kh vids too. From Cadwell i've got a 3 lap session when it's still a bit wet and there's loads of traffic. And i've got a real good 4 lap session with a few Elises in it, the race with Tut when i was showing him my lines, and it's got some of the Golf boys too. Puts the Elise190 laps to shame

No space myself, but I edit video for a living, so thought about incorporating a wee pile of footage into a Cadwell thang for Mac to host?

Sounds like a plan Shug. You edit, I'll host.

Gordon, stick the KH stuff on the same disc and fire it off to the Shugster.

As for the hosting - I've got a web server under the stairs and 2mb broadband, so there is no cost implication until I fill up the 80gb HDD (at which point I just get a bigger one

)

Might try Mr Ironside to see if he can slightly restrict the upload bandwidth so that I still have a useable Internet when everyone tries to download at the same time

Cant get the Kh vid on a cd now as i've only got a laptop without a cd burner, and i've deleted it from the camera, so cant nip down an get a mate to do it. So Mac, could you sent Shug the KH cd if you get a minute. I'll get the Cadwell stuff on a disk soon, monday at the latest.

Yeah, sure. Failing that I will get round to editing it here. I only use Window Movie Maker which isn't the greatest.

I am happy to host on a 2MB leased line, nice and fast for when everyone tries to download if you want. Very different to a ADSL line as there is no contention.

As you can see from http://prasad.it/misc/kylie/ that I am hosting for a "friend" it is a wee bit nippy and should max out your adsl line for downloading
