S2 - Driving Lamp Brackets - Fitting them ?

Post by a4drk » Fri Mar 23, 2007 7:09 pm

I'm changing the Bug Eye Projector lights to the bigger style.

On the old bracket, there are 2 x self tappers going up the way into the body work.

The new brackets are in 2 pieces & attach in a different place.
One attaches to the "black inner area" - looks like it bolts thro 2 holes already there.

Do I need to take the clam off to get into this?

anyone done this before?

Apparently its a clam off jobbie.
So, i am thinking of ways round this.
The only solution i can come up with is the Spring toggles which you fit into Gyproc walls.
Theoretically it should work..................

This the offending article? IIRC it's clam off to get to the top bolts on the bracket.

Btw if they are OEM i'd give them a lick of hammerite- mine needed replaced at 2yo

I've asked Murrays in Edinburgh if they do a 2nd type...
by the way, its a different width from the bug eye projectors.

I had the front clam off mine last month, but didn't remove the old bug-eye lamp brackets, cos as well as the bolts/screws, they were held on by a big (very strong) adhesive pads - bear this in mind!

will the new ones not fit in the old brackets??

Can you not take the lamp of the bracket, and use the existing bracket, or modify it in postion.
