MIL light has come on since fitting the new zorst with Robin.

I have a feeling this is related to the the lamda sensor at the rear since the CAT came off to get the new exhaust in place.

Could any kind soul please help me diagnose the problem and switch the light off?

Many thanks

John

Sounds like you'll need an MIL light elimantor. As if you get it turned off it will only come on again soon after with the Cat missing.

Eliseparts sells them I believe.

I've currently got the tool for reading the fault code if you want to pop round at some point?

Sorted Dezzy and Kenny on Saturday

Many thanks Andy - have sent you a PM.

If it is alright with Lawrence, I might pop round ASAP and get the problem fixed.

The CAT is still in place, no CAT bypass, but had to be taken off and put bakc on when fitting the Larini. I think this has been the cause of the problem and need to assess whether there is a fault with the post-cat sensor or just a niggle that needs re-set since Robin and I changed things at the tail-end.

Many thanks for the offer of help.

What I mean is, if it alright with Lawrence, I might pop round to yours before you return the gadget to him, to have the fault read.

My MIL light has just come on, I was just about to post about it here before I read this thread. Does anyone know of any friendly garages in Dundee that would read the code for me? I’ve read lots of posts on SELOC, Exiges.com etc. about the A-spec ECU’s suddenly taking a dislike to cars with stage2 and Pipercross (my setup) after time. The Pipercross has been on my car for about 8k with no MIL problems until now and coincidently this seems to be similar to the mileage these people done before having this problem. Only solution seems to be an upgrade to a B-spec but my car is now out of warranty so £££â€™s! Maybe I’m just being paranoid but anytime there are many possible causes of a problem, I always end up with the most expensive one to put right!

I’ve not done anything to the car lately, the light is not flashing and it still seems to run as before. Are there any common failures with the Toyota cars that could be the cause of this or is it a case of could be anything and I'll need a code before anyone can comment? Oh, and should I be worried?

Sounds like a good excuse for getting a revised b spec ecu with the lower cam change :D . Contrary to popular belief if you have an A spec ECU you don't have to pay quite the full whack for buying a new ECU outright. Looky here http://www.bell-colvill.co.uk/LotusShop ... 5F_REMAP-A. Still not cheap of course, but this is Lotus we are talking about  The remap really is superb.

There still seems to be some problem with aftermarket induction kits, that would be the first thing I'd get rid of.

Actually ran for months without a problem with the Hurricane. MIL light came on when I started the car to drive it off Robin ramps immediately after exhaust fitting, so I doubt whether the Hurricane is the route of the problem.

I just noticed that the other day on the B&C site, I was under the impression that you had to pay £900ish so this is good news. Pain in the arse to send back though as I'll be without a car and at the mercy of Dealer/Lotus Motorsport. Why can't you just get a dealer to order one for you, go in to pick it up when it arrives and exchange for your old one at the same time? Would be a lot easier for the customer. I take it you like the change?

Steve,

Why not take the car for a run down to the factory - do the tour and get the change done by Lotus Motorsport whilst you are there.

They always seem really keen to talk to the end user.
