Squeaky clutch
Squeaky clutch
Was just moving the car to wash it there and noticed that my clutch is squeaking. It's not the pedal. I think it's the clutch itself. I can hear a reasonably loud squeaky noise from behind the driver's seat when I depress the clutch pedal.
Anything to worry about? Do I need to get it looked at?

Not really. Used it Wed/Thu/Fri this week to work.
Just went out for a blast after washing the car and when I came back after an hour, it was not doing it anymore. Will see if it does it again in the morning after the car's been sitting a bit.

Robin, when I depress the pedal it gives one long squeak when I press it down to change gear. When I bring the pedal back up, it stops. So, it's while it's moving. It only makes the noise during motion, not at top or bottom when pedal is stationary.

It could be the pedal bush also - they were a problem on the S1's until they changed to the nylon bush or whatever it was.
Anyway, by all means take to MMC if under warranty. But, if it is the pedal bush don't accept it being lubricated to make the noise go away - it's a dry fit and so should not be lubricated - if it squeaks it's bust ...
