S3 suspension options

The suspension on my elise is a bit tired.
My options are just to replace with bilstein or look at nitrons etc.
Was thinking of getting Tim s refurbed, but s2k not the same as S3 apparently.
My use is mostly track use.
Who's fitted what in recent years, and how have you found it?
Cheers,
Robin

I had Nitron street series on my s2 and it was a huge improvement on the bilsteins.
Considering the buttons for the v6 too.

For mainly track work it has to be Nitron's all the way or Ohlins TTX if your feeling flush

Went in my S2 from Bilstein to Nitron 40 one way.
My bilstein must have been past their best but still acceptable, great change in feel and turn in even with same suspension settings for road use.
Kept them only couple of clicks off soft setting most of time so ride was similar but control much better.
Just watch service costs as they do seem to need serviced/rebuilt. A service that turns into a rebuild can be close to replacement costs for NTR 40.

Would the Ohlins really make that much difference?
Worth changing the front ARB to, Robin?

I like Ohlins kit, they are/were owned by Yamaha and have massive presence in race especially bikes. The TTX on the V6 Cup were something special and were 2-way adjustable for bump and rebound. The only issue with them on the Exige was that you had to remove the rear wheels to adjust them as you couldn't reach the adjuster knobs.
They were an option for both the road and race Exige Cup R so a step up from Nitrons.

I like zero adjustment

wouldn't have gone for streets because they sound lame, but if they were good enough for big d they will be good enough for me
No way ohlins, too many knobs to adjust. How would I ever set it up.
ARB might be good idea too and can easily fit later.
Thanks all!

Quantum then? They do Non adjustable versions and can be specced with Track specific springs. 2 year warranty is twice the Nitron offer iirc.

Has anyone got first hand experience of quantum, though? I keep dithering about them because I don't think I know anyone who has or is using them.
Need more cars

I have a set.... They've not been on the car. Scuffers highly reccomended them for what it's worth.
Must be a few people running them given they're Elise Parts main damper for sale.

I dithered over them (Quantum Zero's) for about 3 years, then put them on my VX220. They were good. Not quite as road-friendly as the Exige-spec Bilsteins I had before (hence why I switched back) but a good compromise for an occasional use road car with the odd track day thrown in. They also allow you to lower the car a bit, but obviously more than 15-20mm has its own drawbacks.
NSS felt very similar on the road with regards to compliance and composure, and have the damper adjustment.
Like you, I dont really like too many adjustable things (I have adjustable ARB's and those along with changing tyre pressures, allows me to tweak front / rear balance plenty), as I like to get to know how the car reacts and know it will continue to react in a consistant manner. Probably a road setting and a track setting only would be fine.
