Anybody know if the S2 rear subframe is the same as the S1's?

Tut,

I think it's unlikely they are exactly the same.

Phone John (parts) at MMC and get him to compare part numbers ...

Robin

Just compared the photo of mine with the clam off to the one on eBay.

They are in fact different.

If you want tut I could come round in my s2 and you could have a look at the subframe to compare it to yours

Thanks LB, they are in fact different.

By all means come around anyway for a natter, always good to talk with another Eliser, and we may even get you into joining in on the darkside.

Only a hunch, but when the S2 came out I thought I read that the subframe was modded a bit because it shared some DNA with the VX's, which was adapted to enable the Vauxhall engine to fit. And I would not be at all surprised if an S2.5 frame was different again, to squeeze the Toyota lump into it.

What's up Tut, is your rear subframe giving you trouble again? ;-)
