Facking fcuk Sheds ....II

Post by skellyjohn » Sat Oct 21, 2006 7:01 pm

I'm having one problem after another at the moment. Just as I get one sorted, another arrives.

Here's the latest:

Car isn't running smoothly when I'm trying to keep a steady speed. Erratic idle - goes from 0 revs and cutting out to 1600 revs. When it does sit at 800ish, it blips up to 1200 every 30 secs or so.

The idle valve (?) and throttle body have been taken out and cleaned but it still does it.

Any suggestions?

Did you take the tps off when you cleaned the throttle body?

Sounds like a sensor problem.

Have you done the TPS reset? Ignition on, 7 full throttle/no throttle, ignition off. Wait 30s, turn on. See if that fixes it. Another option is to disconnect battery for 30 minutes, but note that you must disable the alarm just before disconnecting battery (like no more than 30s before).

It could also be the IACV - it's worth removing it and leaving it connected to the harness then turn on ignition and observe the plunger to make sure it goes up and down ...

Cheers,
Robin
