Creaky clutch pedal

Post by tuscan_thunder » Fri Oct 20, 2006 9:06 am

As title, pedal creaks and feels a wee bit stiff like there's stiction in the action. Feels like it's in the top of the pedal where it disappears into the bulkhead.

Does it engine on, off any speed any temp so I'm pretty sure it's just the top of the linkage.

What's best stuff to use to lubricate it and where do I lube it?

I use a can of spray silicon lube that I picked up from halfords. The fact that it sprays makes it easier to get it onto the pivot.

John,
I've got a big spray tin of Silicon Lube you can borrow. I'll be at home this afternoon if you want to nip in past the flat on your way home
Give me a call on my moblie.

Cheers,
Ali

It's "Dry Slide" I use which is a dry graphite suspended in a liquid for application.

It's particularly good on aluminium to aluminium joints, the liquid dries to leave just the dry graphite.

Iain Thomas got it for me from a gun shop IIRC

and it does the door hinges too :)
