Ask a stupid question.....

Why dont people put vauxhall turbo engines into their Elise? Why go down the Honda or Audi route.

You must be able to get significant power from a modded turbo vauxhall unit.... its not as if the VX220 is that different is it?
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

I suggested something similiar with the toyota engine into an older K engined elise as I would have thought the subframes and various other parts were probably bolt on and bolt off, but got ridiculed on pistonheads for some reason. Seloc must have been down

Because its actually easier to put in the Honda or Audi and they're both better engines (IMHO).

I used to think the same but the vaux unit needs a longer subframe which wont fit the rear clam. Theres just no cheap way to power with the elise unless you want to stretch the elise.

The price very much depends on engine and box.

If you supply your own engine and box, N/A will be £6.5k fitted inc VAT.

Should be £2.5k at the most for engine and box.

I would say £9k all in for the N/A if you wanted me to supply engine and box.

Supercharged prices are yet to be confirmed.

All conversions will come with GKN heavy duty driveshafts and a very nice baffled sump as standard.

I will post full details when I get the first demo car finished.
