Goodyear Eagle F1s are excellent, bit expensive but you get what you pay for. They seem to walk every tyre test - wet performance is supposed to be the best - as we're in sunny Ecosse, that's a big plus.
I have experience with the previous generation on a Focus and they were excellent.
Sister's boyfriend has the current ones on his Focus RS.
Toyo T1-Rs are decent too - bit cheaper. You could try the BF Goodrich Gforce Profiler thingys too - sister has them on her Mini and a lot of guys like them on their Elises.

I've been running toyos (t1-s, and now t1-r) for a few years now on my wife's mazda 323 (same kind of size as a focus, 130bhp fwd)
they're fab, cheap, work brilliantly in the wet, grip like buggery on the country roads, and actually last for ages! - with a fron to back swap half way through, i got 30K out of a set of T1-Ss!
