Attaching rear-view mirror

Hi,
I've tried searching but can't find anything for what must be a common Elise problem - the best way to re-affix the rear-view mirror. Any recommendations? Something strong enough to hold the weight of the mirror obviously, but should I worry about being able to remove it again should the need arise (e.g. if replacing windscreen) or just use the strongest glue I have?

I think you get glue specially for that, I remember doing mine a while ago and stuck it up been fine ever since, but didn't worry about the need for removal.
Edit: yeah as I thought

You can ask at the local windscreen repair place. They use super strong sticky pads. Designed for the job no less.

Yep - DO NOT use superglue, as it'll crack the glass, and also note that the mirror is not central on the Elise - pretty far off to the pax side.

Thanks guys - I'll get some of the special mirror glue rather than using the pound shop super glue I have lying around.

No, as long as you have both wing mirrors. Personally I would have one if I possibly could.

As above, I don't believe it's a legal requirement (both wing mirros will suffice.) However, I've missed not having it - I like being able to see who's coming up either side of me. Got the Halfords kit and just reattached it tonight, so hopefully that sticks.

Mine "fell off" a couple of years ago and I now enjoy the full panorama with no anoying blind spot in the middle. It was not an issue for the subsequent MOT'S either.
