Brake disc upgrade - Advice required

Following my visit down to Judeperformance, Dan seemed quite happy with the abuse my brake discs had been given and reccommended that I change my discs to aluminium belled discs.
Thinking of getting these from Eliseparts
Was thinking of just changing the fronts, £288 inc vat, or am I best to change the rears as well, £485 for full set.
Probably stick with the Pagid RS42 pads and chucking on some braided hoses as well. £70 inc vat also from Eliseparts.
Anyone used this combination before or reccommend superior alternative?
Oh and what brake fluid would be best for some hard braking on track?

Got mine from Stu 160 after advice from other members. Not aluminium belled but great price and he machines them himself. Great quality. Full set was £240.

Dont forget as Ed will tell you braided hoses cost a lot to fit as its clam off

I have the ali belled discs from eliseparts.
I read a post on seloc where a guy weighed his old lotus discs and the new eliseparts discs and there was only something like 0.6kg difference in favour of the ali bells, so i wouldnt buy them on the lightweight principle.
Since doing another walshy day and getting the hang of his braking technique (hard, fast, and with no fear

) the eliseparts discs arent coping very well. I'm getting pad deposits on the discs and they feel grumbly and sh*t after 10 minutes on track.
Maybe its just coz i'm braking harder and from a faster speed than before, but i think i am going to look into upgrading beyond the elisepart discs.

I'm getting that on mine at the moment. I know I am very hard on my brakes, I could kill a set of pads in a single track session no probs in my CTR. I was of the belief that the ali-bells would give me the increase in longevity required?
If thats not the case am I going have to go a step higher, APRacing 4 pots?

you dont need to change the calipers IMHO so 4 pots are a waste of money.
Either the discs need to be either kept cooler, or be able to handle the higher temperature, so as to stop the pad deposits.
Also remember, the CTR is a heavy car (as is an S2 exige compared to the original elise design) and its the extra weight that will kill the pads.
I'm going to look into some bigger AP discs, so will let you know what i find

I haven't tried it, but I imagine there isn't a huge point in fitting braided hoses to a system that has a servo - isn't it the icing on a very mushy cake?
The ali belled disks use the same material for the actual disk I suspect. Your best bet is to get the grooved/dimpled EBC disks (or see if you can persuade Stu to groove some plain ones for you), as these are cheapest.
What pads are you using - the OEM pads may well be the cause of your initial disk deposits - how many pad sets have you been through?
Given the costs involved I would be inclined to (a) forget the hoses (b) buy a set of EBC or similar disks and a set of RS14 or RS42 (the former if you do a lot of track days).
See how you get on - you can always upgrade to bigger brakes next time around.

im currently having this same dilemma kenwood,
do let me know what you choose as ill need to get the same
yes braided hoses cost me circa 4 hours labour and was not cheap
was only expecting 1 ish so hours, clam was off for a different job.
im sure dan would provide a much more competative price.
think the ali bells are a little OTT IMHO!!
think i will be going for turbo grooves or muts nuts efforts if i can get them.

I opined that on Exiges.com and was roundly lambasted. Couldn't be arsed arguing the point as an 'outsider'...
Still maintain it though - I'd challenge you to feel any difference with a servo in the way - and braided hoses are all about feel.
