Hi all,

Done an autosolo event yesterday and at the start of the runs there was a fair bit of smoke.

Investigation last night led to me reading it's a common phenomenon on Evora's and 2gr-fe's in general, problem being oil from the valve cover being picked up by a breather pipe under hard cornering...the breather pipe feeds back into the intake for emissions reasons apparently.

So solution is oil catch can(s)...only kit I can find online is by radium and while I'm sure it's excellent quality based on their intake, $470 before shipping and taxes seems very steep!!

Anyway, I'm wondering if there are alternative options as struggle to see why it has to be specific to the engine / car other than mounting and pipe fixings / diameters? Link to radium product below -

I have a smallish single one in the shed you can have if you want might be a bit small though. That radium set up is certainly nice but a bit OTT for a catch tank. I'll dig it out and post a link to the same one.

Is it a space issue? ..or maybe oil pressure? that leads to this specific design.

I think back to solutions from the past like having a breather into the top of an old coke can.

Ye that's kind of my thinking, don't think it's a space thing as the point the radium gets mounted could easily be used for whatever.

Also not entirely sure why it's dual, is it simply that there are two outlet pipes?

In a nut shell, yes. Bear in mind though that they will need to be emptied and by the look of things the raduim ones are recirculating cans in that they do not have vents and the the gases pass back into the intake stream. If you chose vented cans then you will need to blank the return ports on the inlet plenum.

Ye I'll go for a re circulating setup and hopefully mount them such that emptying them is easy enough. I've got the radium intake which creates a fair bit of space so shouldn't be a problem.

The radium kit kindly lists the components including sizes so will get the elements for a diy equivalent ordered up soon.

I had a mocal one on my old Esprit, I think it was maybe about £100 odds if memory serves

It's a cosworth one that has a sump return on it so you don't have to drain it. You need a return point to the sump though.

Finally getting round to fitting ahead of Sunday's auto solo.
