1999 S! Cobra Alarm 5370?

Post by cypruselise » Wed Sep 25, 2013 4:46 pm

Hi folks, I am still having probs with my battery going flat after a few days. My alarm buzzer unit does not work so I took it off and had a look. It is corroded inside and the back up batteries are a mess. Can you get spares for this or can anyone do a repair? The rest of the alarm seems to work correctly, it just does not make a noise! Would this have anything to do with the battery going flat? Thanks.

Probably (see maths thread) :-)

Actually it is quite likely. If the dead battery is still in circuit then the charging circuit for the alarm battery will never manage to charge the battery (because the battery is goosed). So it will just keep trying and flatten your battery. I would consider removing the fuse to the alarm and see if that stops it happening.

Cheers,
Robin

We had a Cobra Alarm fitted to a 2003 Honda Prelude and it gave us nothing but grief. I'd be tempted to remove the offending item.
